Some important things when moving your cat with other cats

Remember the song, right? Here is the story of a lovely lady bringing up two beautiful cats, and the story of a man named Brady (eerily enough, this is how my friend), who was busy with two cats of his own ... And then one day when this lady met this guy, and knew much more than a hunch ... but four cats that live entirely? That's how everything happened ...
Crazy, pulling their hair? You guessed it. People - cats had their own ways of coping. Urinating on sofas and beds were popular. In general, harassing each other, and even a heroic attempt to escape (fortunately for the safety of pets) also placed a large extent. It was not necessarily enough in the early days of our partnership family habitat.
It seemed so perfect when we started dating. Love cats as I do? You do not mind my "stuck in their" poster? I love you! Here, scratching behind my ears, please. Purrr ... But when I finally decided to live together, we showed silver lining in the clouds.
Anyway, have lived and learned, and hope that we are not the only fool to try to combine multiple cat households, we thought we share some tips. The more the better! If you do these things in mind.
1. my little company moved into place, which meant that we 'new' to them. Set the "new" cat in a room alone with food, water and Kitty position (closed door) and allow them to sniff through the other door for several days. (Like the "new" person, you might feel like staying there with them, too, and let your partner smell the door ...)
2. Have patience. Seriously! Patience and pet insurance. It took nearly six months of wheezing and growling before we heard a lot of spiders. It's horrible. But after a while their backs are no longer the majority of the time overall, and cuddle again.
3. Try this soothing spray, Feliway. I can not say that it worked.
4. Our veterinarian, who got to know us a little too well, provided that two young kitty Prozac our party. Fish flavor, but I was still tempted to get myself on occasion. It seemed to calm the cats, but never was comfortable with them on medication. They seemed a bit lethargic, which enemy defeated, but it was depressing. After a while, we weaned them, and it was more relaxed than the beginning.
5. I suggest a couple of weeks waiting for the litter boxes and fish move in the same position (instead of each other, I mean basically a terminal station of waste and food). We rushed, and these were the sites of the stand-off.
6. I said pet insurance, right? Look for a plan to vet visits, medications, food (there are discounts), and lost pet to help. I do not want to get into this, frankly. Suffice to say, we are all together again and Hercules is a joy, but spend much time at the window. Thinking about the past adventures, no doubt.
If you're ready for a large, mixed family as our cat form, we wish you a raging success. Soon enough (or not fast enough, but eventually, we promise!), You will be a lot of snuggles on the couch, a great pleasure, as they say.
