Horses, like humans, need special attention and care, especially in childhood periods. Care for horses is much more extravagant, because they have special needs related to food, shelter, health care and recreation. If  the breeding of horses and horse industry promise large financial  rewards, it is only fitting that these animals are treated with the  utmost care and compassion because they are part of the family.
Horses  can also be affected by life-threatening diseases that, if unattended  and untreated, will surely demand that the life of the herds. Tetanus  or popularly known as lockjaw is a disease caused by Clostridium tetani  neurotoxins found mostly in the soil relates to the skeletal muscles. The infection generally includes the contaminated deep stab wound or umbilical cord stump on foals. Early  symptoms include colicky abdominal pain, stiffness and spasms around  the wound, but as the disease progresses, it is muscle spasms of the jaw  and throat, making breathing difficult and eventually, the horse will  go into respiratory paralysis and death from respiratory failure .
Encephalomyelitis  is closed from mosquitoes, which generally affects the central nervous  system of horses characterized by high fever for two to three days. If  the inflammation in the brains happens the motor and sensory function  of the animal is disturbed, such as loss of the engine and the target is  characterized by compulsive walking, inability to focus and due to the  loss of vision to locate . As  the disease progresses, common signs of decreasing sensorium, or levels  of consciousness such as drowsiness or difficulty waking from sleep. The horse seems to be unaware of the surrounding activity they prefer to sleep instead of eating. When  the virus spinal cord, accompanied by symptoms corridors function is  documented by staggering, weakness and muscle twitching attacks. The  horse later died of respiratory paralysis or errors due to uncontrolled  seizures and asphyxiation or prolonged loss of oxygen supply.
Lyme  disease to humans can be caused by bacteria called Borrelia burgdorferi  transmitted by ticks is characterized by multi-systemic diseases  involving the musculoskeletal and nervous system such as arthritis pain,  swelling of the tendons, ligaments and joints, behavioral changes, such  as irritability and lameness. Although the disease begins gradually, but lasts as long as months, the treatment can last as long as two years. Although  not fatal, late diagnosis may result in death and in particular that  Lyme disease is difficult to diagnose because the symptoms most often  associated with other diseases and outbreaks are often gradual and  negligible.
So the key to a good prognosis  and survival lies in early detection of diseases that affect horses with  early and appropriate treatment. Various means  for preventing the development of diseases such as vaccines, vitamins,  care materials, including soaps, shampoos and powders, mosquito  repellant and among others are available on the market for your horses  good health coverage. When the disease  strikes, it is best to check with your local veterinarian as soon as  possible to alleviate suffering of your horse. As the old saying goes true that "An ounce of prevention is better than a pound cure."
