Information on German Wirehaired Pointer

Description: The German Wirehaired Pointer is a balanced dog standing 22-26 inches in height and weighs 60-70 pounds. They should be long, thin legs that lead up to a well proportioned body. They have a fairly long neck and a square head. Their faces should be brown with oval eyes and rounded ears hang close to the head. Their coat color should be either liver and white, with ticking or pounds and spotted, they can also be solid liver, but either marking head should live, with or without a white flash and their ears to the liver. The coat is the breed most unique characteristic that they have an undercoat must be thin in the summer and much of the winter, and their outer fur is coarse and wiry make them weather resistant and virtually waterproof. You should never be aggressive or violent for a dog, but if they feel they are responsible, they can be powerful. Health Issues: Although generally a healthy dog, German Wirehaired Pointer is prone to certain diseases and illnesses, which may include ear infections, hip dysplasia, genetic eye diseases, inflamed skin and cancer. Their average life expectancy between 12 and 14 years. Another condition that they may suffer from bladder disease, it is a rare another disease that can cause unfortunate accidents.
