What is not helpful when it comes to food aggression in dogs is to beat or starve them. Such behavior will only encourage more terror and aggression in your dog. If the dog is afraid of you, they are more likely to lash out to defend themselves and engage in actual violence. The key to all issues in training your dog is to establish a base of mutual respect, no matter which one you are metaphorical top dog. This will allow you to resolve any issue peacefully, but a lasting and stable manner.
