Baby corn snakes eat a variety of different things when they live in the wild. Their diet can consist of small lizards, birds and mice or other rodents. One of the corn snakes favorite food of Anolis lizards. However, these lizards are not an easily accessible source of food for pet snake owners. Mice and other rodent species have become the main stay of food to feed snakes. They are easily accessible, easy to grow in large quantities, and is cost effective. Appropriate size of the rodents should be about the same thickness or slightly larger than most of the snakes girth.

Your corn snake will usually eat twice a week on average if you put them in the appropriate size of the mouse. If your snake does not eat on a regular basis, it may be a sign of trouble. Another warning is like regurgitating his food on a regular basis. It's a good idea to record or log of diet and the reflection of your hose, so you can look for these anomalies.

Rumination and sometimes less food can also result from the life of your hose. Shedding of the skin, which is a process that can lead to one week, is something that can lead to irregularities. Although disturbing, it is natural thing during this time. Other times it can be a problem in his home or food source. The common problem is poor nutrition, there is a cage that is too cold and the food is too large for them to digest.

A twenty gallon tank is good for the baby, and it comes down to a size that is about thirty inches long, twelve inches wide and twelve inches high. For an adult bearded dragon, you should at least double the capacity of a tank forty liters, or about 36 cm long, with eighteen inches wide and 12 to 16 cm high.

The time between hatchling and adult size is about 3-4 months in ideal conditions. When creating a home for your bearded dragon is a good idea to go as big as possible the size of the housing, so it offers plenty of space to move, hide, sleep and play. They do it because the heat they absorb from the sun helps the digestion of their food. To obtain optimum use of the source of heat, the stones are better for this purpose than the notes, like the stones to hold much more heat. Note should also be available for stimulation and training versus position for sunbathing.

It kills any contaminants and protects the lizard from unexpected illness or condition. It is better to stone, notes and other things to use in the cage, because there have been reports of lizards received abdominal burns and other injuries of the electrically heated stone and accessories, if there is any interference. You also need a few things that dragon can hide under.

Baby dragons are often held in the newspaper or a paper towel to prevent impaction. It's also a way to ensure easy cleaning, and eliminates the chance that the baby swallow any surface. Tile is a popular method of substrate, such as non-adhesive shelf lining.

When it comes to the surface is recommended NOT to use reptile carpet, because the dragon can get her nails the carpet and it can lead to decreased blood circulation, or narrowing of the stream, the bearded dragon can leave no nails.

The green or common iguana is a herbivore, trees beings. It is located on a wide geographical belt from Brazil to Paraguay and move to Mexico in the Caribbean. Although it is found in some parts of the United States, like South Florida is largely concentrated as the wild population.

It has its ability to machine and osmoregulation abilities, despite being essentially a herbivore. It grows to 1.5 meters long from head to tail, although some specimens have grown more than 2 meters is a body weight of 20 pounds.

The green iguana is preferred pets because it generally calm demeanor and intense green color. However, this will require much attention during the rearing above the lights, the heat be kept absolutely perfect and cages should be frequently changed to alleviate that may be difficult for any aspiring amateur to the nature of the necessary care required can be partly section.

They are fast climbers and use their legs in the Hing and awesome grip on the ground can not hurt, especially in the more decreased from as high as 150 meters when the computer iguanas have their four limbs and use their powerful tails to the right impact.

Male iguanas femoral detect more prominent in their female colleagues dorsal spines are longer and more complex the male versus female.

The Marine Iguana (Amblyrhynchus cristatus) is a lizard found in the Galapagos Islands. The Galapagos Islands is the center of the great discoveries, like the famous giant tortoise Darwin among others. The lizards found here is known as the Galapagos Marine Iguana because of its unique ability to search the sea at will and for that time. Although they concentrated on the rocky coast can also be spotted in the same mangrove area and the plain side.

The desert iguana is a dull creatures that can grow to 16 inches, it is clear and whiter in color with light brown streaks on its back are a little larger if you move back The pattern gives way to dark areas near the thighs and the region progresses towards the tail. Tail is 1 ½ times that of the muzzle. Belly pale. As more time, the sides rose in both sexes, which zoologists use it as a hint to the start of breeding.

Deadly is a common name that the majority of American families lizard covers. They have a crest on the tail and part of the head. The most common types are green and brown, extends the length of one meter (90 cm), and lives in trees. It's harmless. Chuckwalla lizard is another strong that the United States as his mother tongue. It grows to 18 inches and its tail is shorter than the other. The brown Chuckwallas is normal especially as a young band and a few dark spots. Older colleagues have a reddish brown color. These types of iguanas feed on foods such as buds, young leaves and flowers. The usual chuckwalla a Sauro obesus Malus in the family Iguanidae. This is the most common lizard species found in the United States account for other races too.

Insight on mealworms for Reptiles

Reptiles such as lizards, salamanders and animals like frogs, tortoises and even spiders are fondly tamed and kept as pets around the world. Their food products usually consist of feeder insects. This feeder insect lineup consists of crickets, live crickets, fruit flies, mealworms and super worms.

Crickets are grasshopper like creatures with flattened compact bodies and long antennae. They are most likely to see at night. Crickets squeak during their mating season and they use their wings. It's really strange to know that they have auditory sensing organ is established 'the ear' to their knees. Crickets basically feed on organic matter, decaying plants, fungi and some sprouting plants but in case of shortage of food that they are known to feed their own death. Carnivorous animals such as frogs, spiders, turtles, salamanders and lizards find crickets as nutritious food material. Some people of Asian and African cultures are known to eat cricket.

Live crickets are very versatile and insects are the most common feeder insects for reptiles and arachnids and small mammals such as hedgehogs and hamsters as pets such as birds. Live crickets are attached to a hook with a small rubber band and used to fish in ponds, lakes and stream to catch.

A fruit fly is a relative of the fly. But unlike the structure of the fly, it has bright red eyes and black rings tilted on his stomach. The body is yellow in color.

Male fruit flies attract females by a sound produced by vibration of their wings extended. The duration of successful integration is 30 days. According to the temperature of the environment, the development time of the fruit fly from egg to adult varies 70-60 days.

Meal worms can easily be found under the bark of trees in and around the stinking wood, soil and ant nests. Mealworms grow up around 15-20 millimeters in length. These are very attractive as they are golden in color and have a segmented body. They have little tabs on the underside of their bodies, which are attached to the frontal segment to form the foot in the future.

The meal worm larvae hatch from their eggs, eat away everything and grow very quickly and become a doll. The larvae then go through several stages called 'stage' for molting of newer skins every time. Worm food is essential for the global environment for recycling of organic matter.

Super worms are the larvae of a species known as the night competitor. They are about 1.5 to 2.25 inches long and look like large mealworms. These are a delicious food for lizards, birds, frogs, salamanders and other insectivorous. Arachnids and other predatory insects do not eat super worms because of their outer hard chitin.

The super worms are used as subjects in the classroom to life cycle of an insect to show. It is only possible because they are large in size and no special care is necessary for them to live.

How snakes became what they are now

Snakes are on this planet for millions of years, and perhaps the most suitable of the reptiles. We do not really know much about how they evolved over the years (their skeletons are very fragile, so fossils are limited), but they probably appeared around the time of the dinosaurs and the origin of lizard ancestors of both the monitor lizard . One of the oldest snake skeleton was found in the Sahara desert, and go back to 130 million years ago.

The snake ancestors were probably aquatic environment at first, but then they got the advantage that their eggs can be laid on the ground and thus enable them to survive on land. A process over millions of years caused them to Burrow, and it is enough if they lost their legs and outer ear, making them suitable for burrowing. Their eyes were replaced by a clear standard to protect them while digging. But some biologists believe that this happened while they were still alive in the water, so there is some disagreement.

Millions of years later some of these animals came to the surface, and the snake as we know it today was born. These snakes were Boidae group, pythons and boa today, making it the most primitive snake snakes alive today. Pythons actually still have remnants of their hind legs, called spores that stick out the bottom of their tails. The Boidae has no poison, but uses constriction to kill their prey.

Approximately 40 million years ago, there was little snakes were further developed, adapted to the new areas and created new features, and these tubes were members of colubrid group, which is the largest snake group today. Colubrids are some of the snakes, called "New World" snakes. A member of this family's corn snake!

At first snake in the world was largely dominated by Boidae, the colubrids were unable to take in large pythons and boas. If the world went through a dramatic change, temperatures were cooler, which reduces the number of Boidae. They could not survive in the cooler temperatures, which made it possible for colubrids to spread over large areas, they came to temperature and climate more tolerant than be Boidae.

The Boidae (pythons and boas) is now limited to those parts of the world with high temperatures, whereas colubrids can survive almost anywhere. Not surprisingly, the number of colubrids greatly increased and they spread all over the world.

Over time some of the colubrids developed rear teeth. The rear fanged snakes, their fangs at the back of the mouth to make the poison is not intended that the only weapon against prey, but rather as a means of narrowing the filling. Many people remain behind fanged snakes as pets (eg hognose snake and gardener), because it's rare that you poison injection of the person you would have to get your hand all the way into the mouth of the tube to get the injection.

For one thing clear in the case of misunderstanding, corn snake (and the milk snake and king snake) is NOT behind the teeth. They have no poison at all.

This page is about corn snakes and ball pythons, but I include some information about how snakes evolved further comprise, you can use as reference.

After a few colubrids developed rear teeth, another group created which is named Elapids. I must say mamba to make it clear that this group of snakes use their poison as their main defense and attack. The elapids have short fangs in their upper jaw that can inject poison and fangs are hollow and gets its poison from the poison gland in the cheek of the snake. The elapids inject poison much more effective than the rear fanged snakes. Other members of this group are cobras, sea snakes, Taipan and additions. Their fangs are basically what separates this group from colubrids, otherwise they are very similar.

Snakes evolved even further, a few million years ago, the group began to develop vipers. Their fangs are much longer than elapids. The group gets its name because most of the viper is ovoviviparous, they give birth to live young (no eggs). In Latin "in vivo" = "I live" and "pario" = "I give birth". The rattlesnake, probably the most "advanced" snake alive today evolved from Viper to non-shed skin at the end of his tail that he can use to warn predators.

At the end of the hose story, they evolved from a monitor lizard, went through a phase of burrowing, came to the surface leg and earless, and has grown into different groups, each with its own characteristics. Since the tubes have been here since the dinosaurs, and they are still thriving around the world (except the polar regions), snakes are one of the most flexible and being successful in life.

What exactly is a Alligator

The crocodile is the largest reptile in the United States. (Snakes, lizards and other crawling, laying animals were reptiles.) Crocodile resembles a large lizard, but it's not a lizard. It is related to crocodiles but a broader snout and a larger tail. Spends most of his time swimming, or sunning themselves on the shore.

A fully adult male alligator can grow as much as 13 to 16 feet long and can weigh up to 500 pounds, but most of them are smaller, up to 10 feet long for men and 7 or 8 meters for women. This includes the tail. A crocodile's tail is about as long as its body. Alligators live in freshwater flow in the southern United States, from North Carolina to Texas. When they are going to live to 100 years old, but actually 20 to 30 years is closer to it. The crocodile is one of the few reptiles that have voice. It can be loud whine or yelp. Female alligators build nests of leaves and other material, the scraper along the coast.

They lay up to 38 eggs, 2 to 3 inches long. The young alligators are 8 to 10 inches long when they hatch and grow about a foot a year at first, then slower. Young alligators are often caught as "pets", but it is very stupid. They rarely live in captivity, and if they will soon become dangerous. A crocodile eats other animals. It is sent to them, drown it in water, then swallow them. Alligators are shy and rarely attack humans, but if they are dangerous. They often swing their big, strong Tails in battle. Some people are willing to risk death by riding on the backs of alligators. The largest amount of alligators is that their skin is very fine leather.

Do you agrre it is important to understand the time and Frequency for food of an Reptile pet

Reptiles are covered by large groups of animals. Lizards, snakes and iguanas fall into this category. Your eating habits can be as varied as the diversity of these lizards. You will often find that some reptiles eat only during the day, while others feed only at night. Some eat once a day, while others will only eat once or twice a week. You need to meet the specific needs of the addresses of your pet.

Reptile owners need to learn so much about their pets as possible before and after the acquisition of property. If you do not know the right eating habits can damage the health of your pet. If they are not eating the right amount of food they are getting valuable nutrition that will help them to grow healthy and happy to be robbed.

One thing to consider is eating food sources, various reptiles. While some lizards eat crickets, some snakes and rodents love turtles as their plants. The snake can only eat two times a week, while the turtle to eat every day to get the nutrients they need to do.

The attempt to create a "best time" or "best frequency" for reptiles generalize is not the best approach. The one sure thing is that when a reptile looks like it is starving, it is most likely. Reptiles are relatively difficult to overfeed. These are not like goldfish, eat them only when they are hungry. Owners should pay attention to it and looking for signs that your pet can starve when they approach the enclosure. Although it is difficult to over-feed a reptile, it is all too easy to be a stoker.

Proper research on your particular type of reptile is always the best decision. Not feeding your pet in the right quantity, at the right time can lead to malnutrition and possibly even worse.

Many online resources to feed on reptiles is based on each species. Another option is to get a comprehensive health care and leaves from a Breeder or animal shop. We all want to raise a healthy animal, and doing a little extra research can go a long way.

Do you agree that having a pet adds up a lot of responsibility

If you adopt a pet, consider the space, time and money in becoming an owner.

Space for a pet

If your house is full of precious carpets and upholstered furniture, so cats and dogs may not be suitable. Cats are difficult to contain in one room, can jump a fence and yet not respond to any tells. Dogs that can be absorbed by the interior fences require different rooms depending on size. Active dogs of almost any size needs a doghouse. Also, the bigger the dog, the more interior space, it must be happy. Of course dogs and cats better than affection, and other pets can be wonderful companions.

If you constantly have to worry about damage, you may consider small animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters and fish. For small animals, you should use a suitable location for a cage. Small animals often carry viruses such as strep throat, which can be taught to children. For this reason, the cage in an area is not a family farm. For fish, you obviously need a tank. Consider how it will be located, what water can do to the furniture and how easy access for cleaning. An aquarium - or perhaps lizards in a terrarium - may be in the room of a child if the child is old enough to be entrusted to the temptation to play with the animals. Finally, if you are interested in birds, you need to cover the mess that most birds do. Bird droppings and food are thrown about by even the smallest birds.

Money

Each type of PET requires a financial issue. For those who begin with a bird, fish, small mammals and lizards, the original invoice cage, aquarium or terrarium. Care for these animals is generally limited to food and bedding, maybe $ 15 a month. Aquariums replacement filters at $ 10 or more per month.

Cats and dogs purchased from a breeder or a pet may run from fifty dollars to one thousand of rare breeds. An average of $ 125 to $ 300 is a regular publication of a popular breed like a cocker spaniel or a golden retriever. Adopting an animal from a humane society runs $ 35 to $ 75, but generally includes a free neutering at a local vet and first shots. Cats and dogs have a rabies shot. There is also a regime of shots for each, which total hundreds or more with a vet. These costs can be repeated annually. It is important to consider these costs when the debate to buy a pet.

Time

Weekly, even daily cleaning may be necessary for small mammals cages, bird cages and lizard terrariums. Aquariums need new filters monthly and must be frequently cleaned. Dogs need walks several times a day, unless a kennel. Cats tend to take care of itself. A cat litter box should be cleaned daily to prevent odors.

Insight on dessert iguanas

Insight on Dinosaurs

In recent years, an increasing number of dinosaur bones found places more and more worldwide. The evidence discovered bones tells us that the different dinosaur discovered we all closely related. In general, they have developed along two parallel lines. Tell the differences seen in their arrangement of teeth in the jaws, as well as the hip bones we are two main types of dinosaurs. All of these types including dinosaurs used to walk on hind legs and dinosaurs walked on all fours. The kind that walked on hind legs (and they are carnivores) defined as Theropoda, while the second one called Sauropoda (plant eaters).

The fish eating dinosaurs have been found to have sharp teeth on the edges like a saw file. Dinosaurs typically run on hind legs to catch the victims, their bodies bent forward and their Tails are stretched out to keep their balance. Their feet are usually three or more toes, but only three imprints left toe on the ground when they run. Some of these footprints even be mistaken for the prehistoric birds, but they are generally more detailed and more. 225 million years ago, carnivores began growing rapidly in size and look more terrifying adaptation. Some species can grow to 4 feet long but maintained their agility to quickly search for food. The skeleton in Europe showed lighter and faster than the dinosaurs found in North America. It was found that American site, the skeletons of meat eaters in the development of a cruel-looking claws on their hands and feet, proof that the species developed the ability to tear their enemies to shreds.

In the first geological age, dinosaurs are meat eaters have grown more and more terrifying and wonderful, the highlight of age Tyrannosaurus Rex, or the "tyrant lizard". This is the lizard that had heads more than 6 feet long and nearly 50 feet in overall length. The T. Rex, as it is more popularly known, has a short neck and massive body. The four legs are too weak and the arm is reduced to two small fingers. Although he has no speed or wits, the T. Rex can easily scratch their huts victims by sheer weight, the strength of their heavy jaws and teeth cruel 6 inches. T. Most Rexes estimated weighed about 10 tons. That's too heavy, considering that major bull African elephant weighs 7 tons only. Skeletons of T. Rex can be found on many continents and in particular a large number located in the territory of the former Soviet Union.

At about the same time as the Rex, with a few skeletons have been found to suggest that other meat eaters of the same quality of living around the edge of the lake or water body. The lesser-known reptiles known as Plateosaurus. They have five toes big feet and their footprints are located throughout the United States, primarily in Texas. They also probably some of the largest animal ever, towering over the T. Rex again.

Other popular dinosaurs, the "thunder lizard" Brontosaurus or lived at the same time as well. It is the little one like a horse, like body and long tail elephant with huge feet. The animals easily must've weighed about 30 or 40 tons. Of course we ask how could such large animals move around. Well, most of which mobility is attributed to the fact that the dinosaurs who spent many hours of life in the water, the buoyancy of the large burden of their feet. At the same time, it can be surrounded by water as protection from other flesh food competitors.

Was always located in many of the famous dinosaurs throughout the United States, especially Colorado and Utah. Most of the giant dinosaurs living in the days of the Jurassic period and excavated more and more of their skeletons from South America, Australia and India.

Cool insight and information on Bearded Dragons

Most fans love dragons reptiles as pets in the first place because of their wonderful personalities. A large majority of these lizards are warm and friendly and enjoy the interaction and the treatment of their owners. Just by following these simple steps, it is very easy for the owner to tame a Beardie.

There are about eight known species of bearded dragons in the wild. These dragons are living in Australia, from different, usually warmer parts of the continent. These species, called by their common name, the eastern bearded dragon, the Lawsony, small dragon, the western part of the dragon, The Dwarf bearded dragon, bearded dragon Mitchell, Nullabor and Inland or Central Bearded Dragon.

The Central or Inland Beardie is by far the most common lizards kept by pet owners and breeders around the world, also known as lizards 'Oz' ('Oz' Aussie meaning as in Australia), and the Dragon Beardie

Bearded dragons exhibit some very interesting and comical behavior in nature and in the closet. These actions are often related to territorial and breeding displays.

The most striking behavior Bearded Dragon is the inflation of his beard. The beard is really a bag of skin that can be extended. When disturbed or agitated, or excitement, they fill the bag with air, the strong growth in volume and scattered pointed spines resembling a giant beard.

This mechanism is to give an illusion that the dragon is bigger and prickly. The males have a higher evolved mustaches as females. With this power, and her mouth open and hissing sound is enough to discourage any threat convincing.

Another behavior that are used in defense and in breeding is the head-bobbing. This action is performed by men as a way to prove their manhood and authority. They are high on the toes of some rock or branch, darken their beards and head up and down.

A very strange but funny the behavior of a Beardie arm waving. This is an obedient motion carried by dragons when confronted with dominant lizards. The Beardie stands on three legs, while waving one arm in a slow circular motion, and then alternating with the other arm.

Arm swing is performed by young women and subordinate males. This gesture with aggressive men to attack them, and also used by women to men unwilling to rein in when they insist on a diet. In a cage with many traits of a dragon arm waving can start with the whole group after a very interesting face.

In most cases you will see a bearded dragon is usually a dominant male will sit on the highest place available from which Beardie has a good view of approaching predators or rivals.

Information on Beautiful Galapagos Islands

Galapagos is known mainly as a result of the observations, Darwin did in the 19th century. These observations helped him to his theory of evolution by natural selection to formulate. It was a great place for such comments, because variety of wildlife is amazing. Here are some of the animals you would expect to see if you ever visit to the Galapagos Islands.

First Galapagos tortoises

Information as what to do if Leopard Gecko Loses Its Tail

If a new or even a seasoned owner of the leopard geckos may experience a phenomenon that is actually quite common for the leopard gecko can not yet anyway stressful. Your pet can lose or "drop" its tail.

Tail drop is a defense mechanism that helps reptiles escape predators. In nature, many lizards, which are different genetically programmed defense. Some stinking oil secreted by the skin, while others can be wound into a ball and just roll away from a predator. The leopard gecko, like many smaller species of lizards have no defense, but what they have is a removable tail!

If a larger predator tries to grab a gecko in the wild leopard can change the tail. The severed tail will writhe around in a while to distract Predator lizards long enough to get to safety. While this defense is instinctive and no real damage to Leopard, it can be very painful to the owner. Looks a lost tail running around can be quite a sight! I'm sure you'll agree.

While caring for your pet, you can not feel your gecko to worry about predators, but there are some common reasons why your lizards can lose their tails. These include inappropriate housing for many lizards in a single cabinet, bullying by other geckos in the closet, disease or a compromised immune system and even stress. Sometimes inexperienced owners anticipate gecko by the tail, which can lead to the tail mechanism also falls.

If your leopard tail is, here are some things you want to do.

If you have multiple properties in a single cabinet geckos, gecko you want to remove with drop tail for a separate enclosure. Make sure to use paper towels as substrate in the new building because you do not want to loose surfaces like dirt or sand or sawdust into the wounds. This can lead to infection and will only get worse.

While your pet is in the new cabinet, you will want to try to replicate the original environment as much as possible by keeping the temperature consistent and that the environment is clean and warm insurance. This reduces stress and promote healing of an optimum temperature around 90 degrees will make your pet's tail regenerates success.

You will also want to keep the Gecko normal diet. Remember to regenerate its tail, the leopard will be able to store fat, so proper nutrition is vital. Dusting your live feed with vitamin supplements and calcium powder is an excellent way to get the extra nutrients needed during regrowth of the tail to give.

Make sure your Leopard daily basis. You may have a very thin layer of antibiotic ointment to use the tail. This will help prevent infection. When the tail begins to show signs of an infection, you want your pet to a vet as soon as possible. You do not have an infection so far as to be incurable spread.

If you take good care of your precious leopard gecko, and is careful to their environment clean, providing plenty of clean water and good food, it must grow a new tail for about a month. While the new tail is not the same color or have the same pattern as the original tail, be sure that your pet will be almost as good as new

Gather some insight on Megalania Prisca

Can you imagine being chased by a giant carnivorous lizard that you think would make a tasty and satisfying meal? If you were one of the first people to arrive in Australia, this is a situation that you really could have had to face. This is due to between 1.6 million and about 40,000 years ago (the latter is very close to the time the first Indians arrived in Australia), one of the largest predator in Australia was actually a giant carnivorous lizards.

Fossils of these lizards were first studied by the famous British anatomist Sir Richard Owen. In 1859, he named the species' Megalania Prisca "that" big old Roamer "(although many people mistakenly translate names like" big old Butcher ") means. But today, although the name "Megalania" is still in common use, the animals were recognized as part of the same sex as the other monitors, the "Varanus" - and because "Priscilla" should be changed to gender (male to female ) correspond to the "Varanus" is the correct name of the species is "Varanus Priscus."

There is much debate about how large these animals came, and to be honest, it is not clear. Some people believe that they may be as long as 23 feet (7 meters), while others believe that their maximum size was probably closer to about 15 feet (4.5 meters). Regardless of how exactly how big they are, although they are currently the largest known species of terrestrial lizards, and certainly not an animal that you have a close encounter with wanted!

Did you know that Northern Territory, Australia has lots of Reptiles

The northern area is known for its' the real Bush. It has a population of less than 200'000 people, more than 90% of the people who live in government areas. This government areas cover only 5% of the Northern Territory, yielding more than 1.2 million square kilometers, almost deserted. This area is nearly five times as large as Great Britain! As you can imagine, it's an incredibly large and varied landscape! There are about 300 species of reptiles and 50 species of amphibians in the Northern Territory. Slightly more diverse you can, say the British species count only six reptiles and amphibians 6!

I spent the whole year of 2005 traveling around Australia. I went to every state and every major city, drove the longest straight road in the world twice, and toured the entire perimeter of this beautiful country. But the Northern Territory was in my books, by far the most amazing place I've ever been. I have three months in Darwin and a few weeks traveling around the NT, goes as far south as Alice Springs and Ayers Rock (Uluru in Aboriginal terms). I knew that was the place for me, since only a few days after I drove by, saw my first wild black-headed Python (Aspidites melanocephalus) crosses the road. What a shock! This was the first snake I had seen in Australia, and I had traveled thousands of miles. I almost run over, but suddenly swung misses by an inch! I turned around and went back, move away from the road for 50-meter oncoming road train plowed right through us all! It was a beautiful, 2 meters women in perfect condition. It was such a different animal in the wild, after seeing many of them in friends' collections, not like the wonderful feeling of seeing her in the bush and lending her a helping hand about the road. This was certainly true for me! I knew a lot more where they came from and I will certainly find!

During my time in the Northern Territory, I have three months to work on 'Crocodylus Park. A crocodile research and education center is about 8,000 saltwater crocodiles and a variety of crocodile skins and animal houses. This was certainly an experience of a lifetime. Not only to work with such a large number of large crocodiles, but also to a group of brilliant Ozzie to meet you! Me and my girlfriend was living with Eirlys an Australian couple, Cade & Holly. Cade knew the area and had worked in the park for a few years. He told me about a place where he goes on a regular occasion. He said to me: "We run after the sun goes down, about 45 minutes outside the city and just cruise for snakes." Well, it just sounded too easy for me, but I would certainly try!

Only a few days later, Cade arranged some of his comrades to join us in "herping" one evening. We were in convoy, Cade and three others in his car, closely followed by Maddy car with me in the back and a few people! 45 minutes later and we arrive at Fogg Dam. This place was not what I expected, it was not that great. We started driving very slowly on this road, which soon became quite narrow, with a fall of 2 meters on each side in dense, wet swamp. This was the dry season. In the wet season the road is not even visible, fully immersed in water. Only a few seconds after running through our first catch of the night comes, a yellow-bellied Water Python (Liasis mackloti)! It was closely followed by another, then another, then another. Within half an hour we had picked 14 pythons water away from the road, even to record 2 or 3 at once! Of course, if released directly back into the swamps. I definitely had second thoughts about this place, it was fantastic!

Following our successful water python Round-up, we took the time to sit by the road and see what we could spot. Came from our large torches, shining in the marsh on either side of the road. At least 20 crocodiles eyes sparkled back to us. Most were freshwater crocodiles (Crocodylus john toni), but few eyes were bigger and further apart, it was the larger, saltwater or "estuaries" crocodile (Crocodylus porosus). I had seen it on TV many times, but it was totally different look this course. I must admit, even working with crocodiles all day, knowing that we were surrounded by hundreds of them were probably a scary thought! The night was topped by a discovery, I was desperate after a Northern Death Adder (Acanthophis pondweed)! An absolutely beautiful one too, so far in the way that we almost done to another piece of 'road-kill. "It was a successful evening camouflaged!

I later discovered, "Fogg Dam" has the largest concentration of predators in the world! Water pythons on their own, represent the highest density of predatory species in a concentrated area. Their prey is the dark rat, said to be in number 15,000 per square kilometer. These numbers of raptors, it is easy to understand their success.

Darwin is a small capital, with little more than 100,000 people, more than half the population in the Northern Territory. You only have one hour drive from the center to Litchfield National Park, a 1,500 square kilometer oasis of Northern Territory habitat, including one of the most famous termite mound glasses in the world, a series of beautiful waterfalls, rock formations to reach and forested areas. A few hours in the east, the greater Kakadu National Park, covering almost 20,000 square kilometers of land, almost as big as Ireland! This is one of the most famous national parks in the world, and certainly should be. Home to thousands of species of flora and fauna.

It was nice to get out to Litchfield National Park on the weekend, just a short drive away. I have a few times during my stay in the NT. It has an abundance of wildlife during the day but at night it really comes to life! Litchfield is famous for its magnetic termite mounds, so called because they are all north - south. The structures are approximately 3metres long and built to the narrowest edge facing the intense sun in the midday heat. With so many termites are so many predators. Many types of hams and other small lizards are common here. The Northern Territory is home to about 100 species of skink, many are dependent on small insects such as termites. With so many small lizards, reptiles, many of which feed on these lizards, including Legless Lizard Burton's (Lialis burtonis). This is one of the larger species of legless lizard, and the unusual, snake-like property of the option on the jaw hinge to provide an easy passage for their main food possible. These are very common in Litchfield and I was fortunate enough to see a lot. The only thing that varied in color.

Orange-naped snakes (Furina ornata) is abundant in the Northern Territory, although they are not nearly as often as other species. I was fortunate enough to have this guy crawling on the road a night spot. My guide for the night Maddy, one of Cade's comrades. He was herping in the years around the area and was familiar with the different types of reptiles you can find on various evenings, at certain times of the year. He thought I must be a good luck charm, because it was the first Orange naped snake he had ever caught here!

I've worked with hundreds of species of snake in the past few years, but I really wanted a taste for 'killer' stuff to get. The Northern Territory was definitely the place to do it and at that moment I had stumbled upon a dead snake in the wild. It was not enough. The Coastal Taipan (Oxyuranus scutellatus) was a rare sight, and although I was hoping to catch a glimpse of one, the chance never came. I was more fortunate, however, Brown Snakes! I have 2 Western Brown snakes (Naja Pseudo nuchalis) Saw a few miles apart in Litchfield National Park. Unfortunately, my first and only sight of a wild King Brown (Pseudo Naja australis), was a young victim of a car tire. It had just happened, we had passed the same place but half hour earlier, but still on his way back through the snake had thought dead.

A number of reptile and insect species are found in and around the Darwin area. During his stay in Karama, we had several visitors to our backyard. Green Tree Snakes (Dendralaphis punctulatus), Two upholstered Dragons (Diporiphora bilineata), Striped Tree Dragons (Amphibolorus temporalis), the Australian House Gecko's (Gehyra australis), Asian House Geckos (Hemidactylus frenatus), Garden ham (Carlia gracilis and Carlia Munda ) and Mertens' Water Monitor (Varanus mertensi). Huntsman and Redback spiders are common in homes and gardens.

Cool stuff on red leopard gecko

Many leopard gecko enthusiasts have expressed a desire to keep a red leopard gecko. While not quite red varieties available at this time, striped red varieties, and orange striped. Some lizards have red eyes could be a compromise satisfactory to some collectors.

The Red Stripe Leopard Gecko

Red stripe may sometimes be leopard geckos misleading, since the color can vary from orange stripe reddish orange, but lizards are quite attractive and is often a struggle in the eye of the discerning enthusiast. Tremper are varieties of red stripe, which may be one or two stripes running down their backs and again, the strip is inclined more towards orange than red, but with patience you can find those orange-red more than you.

There are breeders who wanted to produce more red through selective breeding. The red leopards can be very expensive, and even if you set back anywhere from hundreds to several hundred dollars each!

The Red Tails

Many consider Ray Hine line to be carrot tail "true". Ray Hine comes from England online, and most are solid orange-red color on the tail in all other areas of red or carrot tail. The lizards have been known to be up to 90% of their tails with orange or reddish color of some breeders who believe only 15 to 20% on Lizard staining to include a carrot tail. Breeders like cross RH with bright tangerine hypo nice to try to find a variety that is less spotting and more solid color with rich reddish tail. The process will be better and better as breeders continue to experiment with the types.

The Orange Red Gecko

Tangerines can and hypo tangerine varieties display intense orange-red across their bodies rather more reddish areas along the tail. Hypo Tangerines have less spots and patterns due to genetic qualities hypo-line. Some of the symptoms of hypoglycemia can have almost no spots on their bodies at all and feels almost solid red lizard on orange though they tend to have a pattern and patches on their tails. Through selective breeding line which is the color feature improved to make the colors more intense.

The Eye reddest

The A.P.T.O.R. and R.A.P.T.O.R. morphs with red ruby eyes. The gene had evolved from color around March 2004. Raptor stands for Ruby Eyed Patterson Less Tremper albino Orange. Other black called Diablo Blanco is another beautiful specimen. It's teats less albino morph either solid red eyes, red eyes partially or in some cases, Snake Eyes. The full red eye Blanco Diablo is very popular because it is an almost pure white Becko eyes red with pure! A red eyed differences are very popular among collectors LG.

More about Red Geckos

It is hoped you learned a little about the red leopard in this article, but a lot of information available on the Internet for those who want to further research in genetics and inheritance. Breeders who breed success will be solid red leopard gecko can be sure to order enough large sums of money for such trials and enthusiasts around the world are just waiting to fork out money for the opportunity to own one!

Have you heard about The Great Smokey Mountains and things associated with it

The Great Smokey Mountains offer more than just an abundance of trees and waterfalls. It offers wildlife in abundance. Come and see everything there is to see, you will not regret it. There is beauty everywhere, you just open your eyes. This park has many unique animals, so grab your camera.

During the arrival of spring comes a very interesting animal. Lizards are plentiful in Smokey and five species are located in this park. The blue tail skink is one of the most interesting. It has an almost neon glow, as it basks on the rocks in search of warmth and displaying its blue tail. This lizard has a very vivid lines down the back, and only the tail, the blue color. The bright blue color only in the most immature lizards. In the event that the lizard should have to defend itself is something of a strategy. It literally throws his tail and leave it on the ground. For several moments, vibrate its tail as if it were still there. The tail grows fast, and everything is restored. Fortunately for us, this lizard is not very shy. It converts an ordinary camp next to the visitors in the park.

The National Park has many more animals than to see a simple, yet wonderful, small lizards. There are 66 species of mammals, 200 bird species and 50 species of fish from this area. Together with the blue tail skink, there are over 80 species of amphibians and reptiles. The symbol of Smokey Mountain National Park is the Black Bear. It was here long before any of us started with a visit to the park and should be treated with respect. They are incredible to watch ... from afar. I have a few encounters with bears in the park, and it can be a daunting experience. The park has the largest population of black bears in the eastern United States. There are estimates of more than 1,500 one hundred bears, who are here.

I was within range of a whitetail deer on a trail called alumnus Cave. The worst thing to happen, they had a deer in the park is the ability to scare flash photography. The isolation and the general geography of the country, allowing animals usually found in more northern parts of the country to live here. There are 700 one hundred miles of running water that incredible environment creates a wonderful trout. Any fishermen out there?

So bring your camera, bring your friends, and most of all bring respect for each animal here in the Great Smokey Mountain National Park. Leave you with a smile on your face.

If you love Wild life then Pulau Pangkor is one very cool place to visit

Wildlife found in Malaysia, you never have to go far. Not many people relate to a holiday to Pangkor island in Perak with the opportunity to see wildlife. For most people, Pangkor is synonymous with beaches, beach fun, Carbon IKAN (anchovies), dried fish and seafood restaurants.

Exploring the animal kingdom is generally not on the agenda of the average visitor. If you want to see wildlife you visit Taman Negara or other nature reserves, it is the joint statement. But like other Malaysian islands, Pangkor has its own wildlife, and it is not difficult to explore some of it.

Earthly

Like almost everywhere in Malaysia, Pangkor has its own population of macaques and are not shy. You can find them almost everywhere on the beach, sit near your window at your hotel, close to the restaurant, you have your dinner waiting for leftovers. They search for food, and if you are not aware they also steal your luggage. So be careful.

A blockbuster of the display of the animal lizard. They are common in Malaysia. The interesting thing about the dragons here is that they regularly swim from Pangkor to the mainland. I've seen them crossing the narrow streets between Pangkor and the mainland. The monitor up to 3 meters long.

The lizard you see is usually the younger and the older and stronger animals in their territory, usually in the plantations and jungle. Do not be surprised to see a lizard on the beach to see. Monitor lizards in Malaysia are usually shy, unlike their cousins on the Indonesian islands of Komodo and Rincon.

Malaysia has a wide selection of snakes. I have a few cobras around Lumut and Sitiawan, but it was always in a very quiet area and late afternoon. Snakes are generally shy and you hardly see them unless villagers have caught one.

Turtles are still found, although the locals, most of them prisoners. You can find many of Fu Lin Kong temple in SPK. There are also some on the mainland. For divers and snorkelers, you lucky enough to see turtles.

North of Pangkor is a tortoise breeding station on a beach where turtles lay their eggs. These eggs are dug up and come out for their return. The station, 35 km north of Pangkor Island is worth visiting.

The station has a number of adult species, which makes the visit even more spectacular. These turtles came to the station or wounded or captured by local and not back into the wild.

In order to Turtle Breeding to take away from Lumut to Taiping. Pass Segari After 3 km take the exit to the left (Sign board "Lumut Power Plant"). Follow this road to the first intersection turn left (first paved road), go to the end. On your right you will find Turtle Breeding Station (no public transport).

Families of wild boar still live in the jungle of Pangkor. Many are so hard that there is little driving. If you want to see them, your best bet is to Vikry Resort Pasir Bogak. The owners are feeding wild boar in the evening.

Birds

The symbol of Pangkor's Hornbill Lesser. There are three different characteristic families live on Pangkor. The one living around Nipah Bay, the other near Pasir Bogak and the third lives south of Pasir Bogak. (To get an idea of where we find them, see the map of Pangkor Island Pangkor on the website below).

There is also a Great Hornbill family live in the mountains at Tiger Rock. You must stay at Tiger Rock Resort to the good fortune to see them (evening most likely). The Great Hornbill is imported from further in the Malaysian peninsula.

While the Lesser Hornbills come at Pasir Bogak primary tomorrow, Nipah Bay (and also in Pangkor Town) are more active in the late afternoon. In the morning you will see many smaller hornbills at Sea View Hotel, where the owner feeds them fruits.

You will see (and hear) many of the trees and the beach.

All day long you see eagle. They are more active on the east coast of the island in search of the fish remains of Pangkor fishing industry. Pangkor and specifically only on the mainland at Teluk Rubiah, you can spot dozens of eagles in the early morning hours. One day we saw more than 40 eagles in one place when we were on the way to Teluk Rubiah.

Invertebrates and fishes

A much rarer sight on the sea otter's Pangkor. There is a family lives between Teluk Batik and Teluk Rubiah in an area more difficult to visit. The family occasionally visited Pangkor because they are excellent swimmers. Interestingly, I saw them once in a school holiday in Pasir Bogak.

Sea otters are almost always in the water, but I've seen them relax on the beach too. This beautiful swimmers will surely make your day if you are lucky enough to see them.

You can see turtles when diving near Sembilan island, a group of small island 45 minutes off the coast of Lumut.

White Tip and Black Tip sharks can be found on the north part of Pangkor Laut. These magnificent hunters feed on fish, and you can feed them by hand. The sharks are not dangerous to humans. Back outside the area of Pulau Sembilan, you will find a wide variety of fish, including puffer fish, barracudas, seahorses, angelfish and others.

Mudskipper is common, especially in the eastern part of Pangkor. It is a strange creature that is equipped with air bags to breathe out of water.

On the beaches on the western part of the island, must be careful when you are in the water. You can accidentally (usually at Pasir Bogak, step on a Pinna Incurva, a triangular shellfish that can be a severe cut in your mouth. Shellfish usually only protrudes an inch of sand in the water. The shells may be as large as you hand, or even larger.

Jungle Trekking

There are basically two possible trips to Pangkor. The journey to the north, north of SPK to begin. Take a taxi and ask to be dropped on the jungle trek starting point. The path goes up steeply. Bring good walking shoes, especially if it rains, because there are leeches.

There is little prospect, but there are plenty of orchids, insects, butterflies and other plants to see. The trip takes 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your physical condition.

The other way is probably more interesting. The results of Tiger Rock resort in Pasir Bogak. The trail follows the hills. Many orchids, butterflies and other plants found here. The path is probably more interesting because the jungle "breath" more is more open. This trip takes 1 to 1.5 hours.

This little lizard breeds very quickly. If you have a mating male and female leopard geckos, breeding and hatching eggs have no problem. Your pets will be around and hatching like crazy, so with this in mind, you need to consider space for the new hatch geckos and of course the food, the smaller will be needed. And just to let you think about it, the better your geckos grow, the more they will eat insects, so you will definitely need lots and lots of crickets and mealworms for that matter. See the lizard eggs hatch can be addictive, because it looks like the creation of life to see. This is very true especially if you crack the eggs slowly and a small lizard hatches to see and looks at a whole new world. It creates a strong feeling. A feeling of satisfaction. If a goalkeeper play a role in creating life by placing the little lizard lives in your own care. It's just amazing.
But with large numbers of animals, comes great responsibility. If you treat your pets as friends and comrades, you also need to be responsible with their proper growth and development. Although leopard geckos require a minimum of attention to raising livestock, so does the number work. That means more mouths to feed and more poop to clean. Are you ready for this responsibility?
What about making money from this new responsibility? Even if your liability may increase, you can actually earn some extra money from the newly hatched leopard geckos. To find interested parties willing to care for your new pet and selling them will reimburse you with all the work you have achieved. Would you sell your new leopard geckos, in my opinion is inevitable. When the number of lizards grow, they will eventually lose their adorableness and would instead be a burden. Your love for this little creature is acidic, and we do not want that to happen. Have two or three lizards pets are ok, but too much can cause some complications.

Sex Facts

One of the first skills you need to learn is how to determine the sex of the animal. The basic difference between the male and the female is hemipenal bulge, which is only for men. This can be found on the underside of the animal near its tail shortly after the break. You can also see a "V"-shaped row of pores, somewhere near the bulge. It is the male anal pore, which is very striking.

If you are new to these animals in sex determination, you may be confused by some strange, but very possible female characteristics. Women also have pores in their hind legs side, but they are not as flashy as the males. Leos also store fat in their tails. The fat can sometimes lead to overall tail and can be confused with females as hemipenal bulge. Be careful in these situations. When in doubt, try asking a reliable breeder confirmation.

Facts about selective breeding

The process of selective breeding may be one of the hardest to master. There are some times as many trains, it ends up learning as a 'how' things. Team experience is invaluable, but there are some things you can do the same. One of them is the difference between recessive and dominant feature.

Dominant features are the obvious features, one can see. If you say that a characteristic is dominant, it is the property that seems to inherit LEO should be two "genes" that a single property (such as lizards should inherit a dominant color like orange against a recessive feature one determine other colors the orange is the one visible, although lizards have genes for both properties).

Some common would dominate the color orange mandarin and hypoglycemia, carrot tails, and Giants. Some general features would recessive albinism, the teats less morph and snow storms.

Mating Facts

The mating process in leopard gecko reproduction can be pretty intense sometimes. Males are often aggressive towards females during the process. It's when you should be extremely careful. If your wife does not accept male advances, they begin to fight back, and you may end up with a lot of struggle and cause damage. If so, when you try your lizard Buddy the plate, at least for a few days. Try again when things have cooled a little.

Egg Facts

One of the cool things you can do with Leos, gender, the next generation of control lizards. You can change various incubation temperature on sex lizards while they are in their eggs. If you keep the temperature at 79 to 84 degrees (just above the temperature in the cool area of the tank), then you will be women. If you keep the temperature at about 86 to 90 degrees (about temp too hot area of the tank), so you are male.

Colour morph

The orange leopard gecko is one of the many morphs of being. These morphs are known genetic mutations and variations of nature. These morphs may vary in shape, size and color. One of the most striking is the mandarin orange lizard morph. The 'normal' Leo has spots on a background color. The background colors are orange mandarins. A popular variant of this morph are hypo tangerine or tangerine hypo pitch black. This variant has less melanin, the characteristic black spots in lizards produces. Some have so little that they do not stain all present, so only a solid orange background skin.

Orange tail

There are also morphs more than the usual amount of orange in their tail and they are also called root tails. There is an active effort to produce more orange tail lizards, but few agree about 15% of the tail in the orange color is enough to be seen as a carrot tail. Like most of the other morphs are some more intense orange or more red-orange color. Also some different patterns or stripes on them. Some have two or more, while others just a fantastic run their back.

How to deal with Leopard gecko fighting?

Is your beloved pet fighting all the time? Leopard gecko fighting is a real problem. If your pet to get rough, they can harm themselves or other Leos. Left on their own, they so serious that one of the lizards can die! Do not let this happen to you and an end to the fighting with these tips.

Fighting Man

Leopard Gecko fighting is mostly due to two males in the same tank, especially during mating season. Two males fighting for dominance and potential partners in the region. Races of men are known as very serious and is not known to improve with time. It only gets worse and worse until one of the Leos are slain! When they are young, you lizard each other well, but as they age, people will eventually develop a very aggressive attitude towards each other.

To prevent this, it is best to separate from your husband. The trick here is to identify the men before fighting breaks out. When they are young, it can be very difficult to tell the men apart from the females. Try to check when they get older. Men want a hemipenal bulge just behind their vents. They also have a number of anal pores formed in a "V" just above the bulge.

Linking Fights

If you want your pair of Leos, to prepare for the matches. Your men will get aggressive towards women. Biting is not uncommon and you may even end up with some injuries. This is normal and should not go beyond male aggression if she accepts the man progress. However, the woman refuses, the women fight back, and it is at this point that you have to act. Divorced lizards, at least for a few days to major damage. You can try to match later after a cooling period.

Serious Injuries treated

If lizards draw blood, tend wounds immediately. All open wounds are key areas for infection. To prevent this, use of topical antibiotics and other veterinary approved products. Do not hesitate to call your vet if something does not look right.

Unexplained Aggression

Sometimes fights break out for no apparent reason. Some users have even reported matches between women in an all female tank. The thing to remember is that these beings are still animals and they can be very unpredictable. Even if something should apply, of course, and Leos sometimes has other plans.

Some factors can help prevent these inexplicable events. The first is to control your tank size. Try to keep your lizard in a tank large enough to prevent overflowing. Approximately 20 liters per gecko, more than enough. Sometimes the tank is too hot. Do not forget your two areas of temples, one of about 90 degrees and the second in a cooler 80 degrees or lower. Also stressed lizards can be strange. Try to ensure that the lizards are generated by controlling their hiding boxes, and make sure they have enough water and food, and cleaning out the tank from dirt, feces or uneaten insects make.
