Cats, different types of Bacteria and Infection

There are many different types of bacteria, some of which are good for your pets and others not. Unwanted bacteria, your dog or cat gets sick or an infection that can lead to more serious health problems, for if not taken care of quickly.
Some of the symptoms of a bacterial infection include lethargy, fever, skin abscesses, pain, infections, cuts or scratches, inflammation, redness, loss of appetite, purging, cough and a runny nose.
Skin infections caused by Staphylococcus bacteria. Normally these bacteria feed on your cat or dog skin without problems. Infection occurs when skin is scratched their legs and an opening is made for them to infect. You can identify the scabs, red skin, yellow pustules and skin lesions appear suddenly. Protecting your dog or cat against fleas, ticks and stress will help reduce the chances they get this kind of infection to a minimum.
Brucellosis is an infection usually occurs in dogs that are kenneled. Most of the time it spreads during the breeding season by semen, vaginal secretions or urine, infected with Brucella canis bacteria. Pregnant infected women are likely to either break or kids die shortly after they are born.
Streptococcal infections are common in young and old dogs or cats that have a weak immune system. Young animals immune system strong enough to fight against this type of infection, while older 'immune systems are not as strong as they once were.
Leptospirosis infection is very contagious. Contaminated water or soil is responsible for passage of spirochete bacteria from one animal to another. The symptoms of this infection include high fever, purging, conjunctivitis, weakness and mucus running a red color. Dogs are more prone to this type of infection than cats, sheep, and it can be avoided by those vaccinated in time.
If you think your pet has one of these types of infections, your veterinarian will probably choose to put them on antibiotics. Treatment will be either actual or drops, depending on the type of infection your pet.
Give your pet a regular dose of herbs can help strengthen their immune systems, so an infection can be avoided holistically. Dandelion, Milk Thistle, Echinacea purpurea and ashwagandha are all good for keeping the body's immune system and clean and strong. No doubt, it is better to stop infections before they ever arise.
