Cats are naturally superior vision. However, there are several conditions that can cause blindness in cats. Some diseases are hypertension, glaucoma, and cancer. Let's take a look at some of the causes of blindness cat.
Hypertension
Hypertension or high blood pressure is one of the leading causes of blindness in cats. If untreated, the pressure can tear the retina. This can happen in just a matter of days. Cats with kidney disease, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, or with the highest risk of developing hypertension.
An early sign that your cat is suffering from hypertension is the presence of dilated pupils. The pupils did not react to a change in the light, and can also cause blood in the eyes of your cat. Hypertension is treated by treating the underlying cause. Your cat may also need to start eating foods low in salt.
Glaucoma
One of the common cause of blindness is glaucoma cat. Glaucoma is a condition where too much pressure in the eye. It is also a common problem for people. Cancer

Progressive retinal atrophy is an untreatable condition that causes blindness cat. Most cats suffer from this disease because they inherited it. The disease progresses slowly over time, but will lead to total blindness.
Thyroid
